A War That Took Everything —
Except Their Will to Survive

Since 2022, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has devastated countless families. Hundreds of thousands of women have lost their husbands, partners, and the fathers of their children. These mothers now face the unimaginable: rebuilding their lives while protecting and providing for their children — alone.

Many have been displaced from their homes, forced to start over in unfamiliar cities or countries. They need our support — not tomorrow, but today. Every donation, no matter how small, directly impacts a family's ability to survive and rebuild.

Ordinary People.
Extraordinary Purpose.

We're not a faceless NGO. We're a group of friends, colleagues, and kindred spirits from across Europe who decided that watching the news wasn't enough anymore. Our story began with a humanitarian mission in Chad in 2019, where we helped rebuild water infrastructure for rural communities. A year later, we found ourselves in Yemen, delivering medical supplies to families cut off from the rest of the world.

When the war in Ukraine escalated, we knew we had to act again. But this time, we wanted to build something lasting— a platform that doesn't just send aid once, but creates a permanent bridge between people who care and families who need support. That's how helpukraine.today was born.

What makes us different? We're not all aid workers. Our team is beautifully chaotic — an architect who designs shelter plans, a carpenter who can build them, an IT developer who built this platform on weekends, an organic farmer who sources food supplies, a nurse who volunteers at refugee centers. We bring our day jobs into our mission work, and that makes us surprisingly effective.

We don't have fancy offices. We have group chats, late-night calls, and a shared belief that every single person can make a difference — even from thousands of kilometers away.

What the Media Says

Humanitarian, crypto, and Ukrainian media outlets have covered our mission to support war-widowed mothers through direct cryptocurrency donations.

In a war where traditional aid channels are overwhelmed, this initiative has found a way to connect donors directly with widowed mothers — no bureaucracy, no delays. Blockchain-powered transparency means every single hryvnia is accounted for.

The crypto-for-aid model pioneered by this platform deserves attention. Unlike conventional NGO funding, donations arrive in minutes rather than months, and the on-chain audit trail sets a new standard for humanitarian accountability.
David Reinhardt, Crypto & Impact Editor
CoinTelegraph · February 2026
What makes this initiative stand out is the team behind it — volunteers who cut their teeth in Chad and Yemen before turning their attention to Ukraine. They understand crisis logistics in a way that most crypto projects simply don't.
Fatima Al-Hassan, Crisis Response Analyst
The New Humanitarian · January 2026
Ця платформа стала справжнім порятунком для матерів у Харківській та Донецькій областях. Прямі криптовалютні перекази дозволяють їм купувати те, що потрібно саме зараз — їжу, ліки, шкільне приладдя для дітей.
Iryna Shevchenko, Civic Journalism Desk
Euromaidan Press · April 2026
As the development sector grapples with how to incorporate digital currencies into humanitarian response, this volunteer-led platform is already proving the model works — one family at a time.
